Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future. Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them. First I made a dress because I was pregnant and I wanted to be the most beautiful pregnant woman. Then I made a sweater because I wanted to have one that wasn't like anyone else's. My aim is to make the poor look rich and the rich look poor. A woman is never sexier than when she is comfortable in her clothes.

I think the fashion is super serious and humor is suspect and people don't always know how to approach it. Sometimes people have questioned whether I was making fun of the industry or just at myself. I'm just trying to raise a smile. Clothes aren't meant to be worshipped at a church altar. I have a different approach to most designers.
