For me, art is about learning and about living with people. It's alive. Fashion can be this mysterious thing that you can't explain. Women are women, and hurray for that. Nostalgia is a very complicated subject for me. I'm attracted by nostalgia but I refuse it intellectually. I want to thank all the women who have worn my clothes, the famous and the unknown, who have been so faithful to me and given me so much joy.
I think the fashion is super serious and humor is suspect and people don't always know how to approach it. Sometimes people have questioned whether I was making fun of the industry or just at myself. I'm just trying to raise a smile. Clothes aren't meant to be worshipped at a church altar. I have a different approach to most designers.
