It's a philosophy of life. A practice. If you do this, something will change, what will change is that you will change, your life will change, and if you can change you, you can perhaps change the world. Don't dress to kill, dress to survive. Give me time and I'll give you a revolution. I've always tried to push myself technically and to push myself visually. That's been part of the journey. A lot of self-importance goes on in the fashion industry. I'm not like that.
I think the fashion is super serious and humor is suspect and people don't always know how to approach it. Sometimes people have questioned whether I was making fun of the industry or just at myself. I'm just trying to raise a smile. Clothes aren't meant to be worshipped at a church altar. I have a different approach to most designers.
